Neat little museum that has a little more than just trains. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Much of what the have on display kids can interact with. It's free and there is a bit of historical buildings to see just walking a block in any direction of it as well.
There are several "Depot Museums" within easy driving distance. Monterey has the best by far. Lots of local and regional history and a few times per year there are excursion trains. There is a nice little HO scale model showing the depot, downtown and local "color". Check out the bookshelf, the quilts and the coal related items and militaria while you're there. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
Took my grandson here very interesting! Curator was very knowledgeable about history of the area. We enjoyed our visit!
Oh - and be sure to get some of the coal soap. It's amazing !
